Once the market research has been completed, you can move on to develop a marketing campaign based on the information the business has gathered. By now, you would expect the business to know a lot more about its target market and would be able therefore to tailor the marketing campaign in order to reach it.
In order to market effectively, it is very important to have a plan. An effective marketing campaign often has a number of different activities on different media, so it’s important to know what is happening, when, and in what order. Having a detailed plan will also enable you to monitor how the marketing activities are progressing.
Having a plan doesn’t mean that things can’t change; a good plan is flexible – it can respond to circumstances, building on things that work whilst eliminating or changing activities that don’t have the expected effect.
